Government Technical College (GTC) Umuchu Aguata L.G.A Anambra State, on Wednesday 26 June 2019, unveiled their 2 blocks of classroom built by the Anambra State Government under Governor Willie Obiano Administration.

The unveiling of the 2 blocks of 10 classroom which took place during their Parent Teacher Association (PTA) was an avenue for the school team to deliberate on how best to appreciate Governor Willie Obiano for his wonderful performance through the Commissioner for Basic Education Anambra State, Prof Kate Omenugha , the Zonal Director of Education , Mrs. Georgina Ogbuonyalu and Lady Franca Okeke, member representing Aguata Zone in PPSSC for their support and contribution towards the completion of the 2 blocks 10 classroom and a hostel of 400 capacity which is still under construction.

Speaking at the meeting, Ichie Paul Okpala commended Governor Willie Obiano for his good work, saying that the 2 blocks of 10 classrooms which was already completed would go a long way for the students. He stated that the administration of governor Willie Obiano have favoured all the students in Anambra State, saying there are other ongoing projects which would be completed soon. He thanked him for providing enabling environments which is suitable for learning.

Also speaking H.R.H Igwe G.O Ezechukwu Okwuluoha, represented by Nze James Ezeanyorah, maintained that Governor Willie Obiano cares for the well being of every child in anambra state. He thanked him for completing the 2 blocks of 10 classrooms for the students, and also pleaded with him to complete the hostel of 400 capacity which is still under construction.

On his part, the Principal Government Technical College, Umuchu, Mr. Alphonusu, commended Governor Willie Obiano for good work in GTC, saying that the governor completed the 2 block of 10 classrooms in a short period of time, saying they have some ongoing project under Gov Willie Obiano which is the construction of 400 hostel capacity which would be completed soon. He pleaded with the Governor to send some teachers to them, to help solve the problems of lack of teachers. He also appreciated the Commissioner for Basic Education Anambra, State, Prof Kate Omenugha for her support and contributions towards their school. He also thanked all who saw through the completion of the 2 blocks of 10 classrooms.

On his part, Mr. Chidi Chukwuemeka who spoke on drugs abuse stated that 26 June was set aside for World Drugs Day to create awareness on the implications of drug abuse. He maintained that drug abuse is a very dangerous thing and urged that all should create awareness and said No to drug abuse. He added that so many youths have engaged themselves in drugs which have sent many to their early grave. He advised parents to watch out every activity of their children and teach them the dangers that are associate with drugs. He urged the parents to know the type of thing they take in the presence of their children.

Also speaking the PTA chairman, Apostle Peter Peace Ibe, commended the Governor for actualizing the 2 block of 10 classrooms project. He also appreciated all the parents for their supports and contribution. He pleaded with them to contribute towards the renovating of the corps members lodge which is not in good shape and appreciated all the Educational heads for their support to take Government Technical College to a greater height.
