The Federal legislator-elect for Aguata Federal Constituency, Hon Chukwuma Umeoji, KSJI, has said that he would champion the cause for job creation and restructuring, for a better society in the 9th National Assembly.

Umeoji, who made this known in an exclusive interview with Fides shortly after he received his Certificate of Return alongside others, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on March 14, 2019, noted that job creation for the teeming unemployed individuals, would among others, be his priority in the National Assembly.

He pointed out the need for decentralisation of powers, restructuring of the revenue sharing formula and true federalism so as to give more powers to the states as units.

Hon Umeoji said he would move for strict implementation of the Federal Character Principle in key appointments, local government autonomy and electricity to be included in the concurrent list, as well as support State Police for improved security and extra state for the South East.

According to him, local government autonomy if achieved, would make stable grassroot developments in the local governments, towns and villages achievable.

The newly elected federal legislator, who won the election to represent Aguata Federal Constituency in the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), promised to do his best, and justify the confidence which he said the people of Aguata L.G.A reposed in him.

He dedicated his victory in the February and March 2019 National Assembly Election to God, who he said gave him the grace, and to the people of Aguata for what he described as a mandate of responsibility and respectability which they gave to him.
