The Anambra State Police Command last Monday paraded the three suspects, Ifeanyi Azota, 40 year old artisan, his acclaimed wife, Toochukwu Azotani, 43 and her niece, Ogochukwu Nwankwo, 33 for allegedly involved in flogging and striping one Ogochukwu Okafor naked, videotaped the incident and thereafter pushed her out of the compound stark naked.
Parading the three suspects (A man and two women) at the Command's headquarters, Amawbia, the commissioner of police, CP Rabiu Ladodo said the victim, Ogochukwu Okafor reported at Central Police Station Awka that she was invited by her male facebook friend, Ifeanyi Azota on 19/03/2019, saying that the victim said while waiting for his friend, one Toochukwu Azotani who claimed to be the wife of her Facebook's friend suddenly appeared with her friend one Ogochukwu Nwankwo, locked her inside the bathroom for almost four hours and left, adding that the women later came back with two big canes, opened the bathroom and started flogging her.
According to the victim, the suspect's friend one Ogochukwu Nwankwo stripped her naked and flogged her severally, noting that while the flogging was on, the principal suspect (Toochukwu Azotani) was busy video tapping the incident and thereafter pushed her out from the compound naked.
She further alleged that the principal suspect Azotani Toochuckwu called her on phone the following day and demanded for the sum of Sixty thousand Naira (#60,000) or they would post her nude video on the internet, noting that when she refused to pay the money as requested, the principal suspect Azotani Toochukwu actualised her threat and posted her naked video on the internet.
The Police boss said the three suspects was arrested and scene of the incident was also visited by Police detectives attached to Central Police Station Awka, even as he that the case was under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.
Mr. Ladodo used the medium to called on the Facebook users to be mindful of what they do on the social media, noting that the page was created for effective communication and exchange of ideas.
In a related development, the command also paraded car snatching syndicate, absconded military officer allegedly involved in armed robbery, rape and extortion, armed robbery suspects, suspected ritualists and cultist.
One of the suspects who was interrogated, Ogochukwu Nwankwo (the niece), said she was about going out when she received a call from Tochukwu Azotani beckoning her to come to the house because she found out that her husband has been sleeping around.
She said when she went there she remembered how her ex-husband took her son to stay his with his girlfriend and this provoked her. She said this was what made her angry to flog the alleged mistress mercilessly and humiliate her.
She said that was not really her character as she admitted she made a mistake.
The wife, Tochukwu Azotani, said that she saw a chat between her husband and his mistress on his phone the second time after they had previously met in the hotel, that was why she decided to lure the lady to the house (with the help of the husband) and disgrace her.
She claimed she didn’t know that the action meted out on the lady would go far like that.
Meanwhile, the victim of the assault, who is a widow and a mother of one, said that her career has been killed both in Nigeria and outside the country following the viral nude video and she does not want to be compensated.
She revealed that why she was being tortured, the man, Ifeanyi Azotani who invited her to the house – was there looking and did nothing to save her.
The suspects confessed to the crimes but denied releasing the video. They claimed it was a third party that collected the video from them on the day of the incident and released same.
