The Catholic bishop of Awka Diocese His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, last Saturday, 2nd Fabruary, 2019 hosted the entire Awka Diocesan Religious. The annual get-together which comes up every second of February featured the inauguration of the newly elected executive members of Awka Diocesan Religious. 

The annual get-together preceded by Concelebrated Eucharistic Celebration had all the consecrated men and women working in Awka Diocese in attendance.

Inaugurating the newly elected executive, Bishop Ezeokafor urged them to operate all-inclusive administration and ensure that they enthrone discipline, unity and love. 

The newly elected executive members included Rev. Fr. Jude Ekemgba, CSSP - President, Rev. Sr. Stella Maris Nwoji, HHCJ - Vice President, Rev. Sr. Maria Felice Anyikwa, IHM - Sec, Bro. Emmanuel Edoh, BSS - Asst. Sec, Rev.  Sr. Patricia Osineme, HHCJ - Finance, Rev. Sr. Augustina Okafor DDL -Provost I, Rev. Sr. Angela Akachukwu, USOA - Provost II, Bro. Mac-Julian Onyejegbu, BSS -PRO, Rev. Fr. James Adawai, SMMM - Treasurer and Very Rev. Fr. James-Michaels Okpalaonwuka as Vicar

In his homily, Bishop Ezeokafor enjoined the religious to be prayerful and steadfast, saying that all those who devote their time, energy and leisure for the good of humanity would never go unrewarded, adding that their prime target remained to win souls for Christ.

He urged them to see themselves as partners in progress and to collectively work for  the good of the Church and humanity. The Catholic Prelate appreciated the Religious for their commitment and contribution towards the development of the Diocese, even as he exhorted them to maintain the tempo..

Addressing the golden and silver jubilee celebrant, Bishop Ezeokafor expressed gratitude to God for granting the celebrants good health both in mind and body, noting that attaining fifty and twenty five years in the Lord's vineyard was never an easy task. Bishop Ezeokafor while appreciating the celebrants presented with material gifts.
