A business mogul and a philanthropist Sir Chief Ebuka Okafor has distributed various materials to over 2,000 widows in his foundation to empower them.
Ebuka Okafor Foundation is a non-governmental organization with its vision; to empower the physically challenge, widows, less privilege and mobilize public opinion, and encourage voluntary action against social evil in the society.
The foundation which has existed for five years began the empowerment ceremony with church service at All Saints Anglican Church Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area Anambra State.
Delivering a sermon at the church to mark the occasion, Rev Ikem Calvary who preached the homily, described divine open door as one of the blessings which people obtain from God, stating that there are some conditions which could invoke divine open door.
Rev. Ikem further cited the book of 2king chapter 4 vs 1-7 as a reference point to buttress his gospel preaching, explaining that; thanksgiving, positive mind, having a big dream, forgetting the past issues among others contributes to the divine open door in the lives of people of God.
Speaking to newsmen, the founder of the foundation, Chief Sir Ebuka Okafor revealed that what motivated him in setting up the foundation was to touch lives, and alleviate the suffering people who are living in agony, noting that he feels delighted when he see other people enjoying.
Similarly, former Governor of Anambra State and incumbent Vice Presidential aspirant Nigeria Mr. Peter Obi “OON” who graced the occasion commended Chief Sir Ebuka Okafor, saying that Chief Okafor's humanitarian initiative is quite commendable and worthy to emulate. He charged other affluent individuals to use their resources for the well being of society.
In the same vain lady Ndidi Mezue who is the commissioner for women affairs Anambra State as well affirmed the unmatchable magnanimity nature of Chief Sir Ebuka Okafor, praising his touching lives initiative.
Items distributed to the widows included: Generators, Sewing machine, Hair driers, Cartons of tinned tomatoes, Tummy-tummy noodles, Bags of rice, Onions, Garri, Beans, Cloths, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Chinwe Nwani, Mrs. Maria Ikechukwu. Mrs. Ifeoma Ani, Mrs. Euphemia Ojukwu, Mrs. Benedict Onyenankeya and Mrs. Rebecca Egbudike purred encomiums and accolades on the founder of the foundation Chief Sir. Ebuka Okafor, Asking God to bless him abundantly.
Dignitaries at the occasion include; Traditional Ruler of Nnobi, Igwe Engineer Nich Obi, Anambra Central Senatorial aspirant Uche Ekwunife and others.
