. . . As 20 Political Parties Adopt YPP Candidate

No fewer than 7 Anambra South Senatorial candidates of various political parties last Monday stepped down for the Senatorial candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, even as they vowed to deliver him in the Zone.
The candidates included Nze Ferguson-Umeh Pius of Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD); Anumba Ogonna Chiazor of Labour Party (LP); Onwukwe Emenike of Democratic Alternative (DA); Emeka Martins Udeh of Peoples Progressives Party (PPP); Chigbata Kelechi of Providence Peoples Congress (PPC) and Barr. Osunkwo of People for Democratic Change.
Addressing newsmen in Awka, the candidates who spoke separately said they were out to collapse their structures for the candidate of Young Progressives Party, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, saying that he (Ubah) had proven to be more prepared and better position to represent the Zone, adding they would work for his emergence.
According to them, after looking at what they described as Ubah's preparedness and grassroots acceptance they have no other option than to support him, noting they had also reached out to their numerous supporters to rally round Ubah.
In a related development, 20 political parties in Anambra State also adopted and thrown its weight behind Ubah's Senatorial ambition.
In a communiqué signed by the chairmen of the twenty political parties and made available to newsmen in Awka, the party leaders said Ubah had all it takes to represent the Zone, assuring that they decided to back him because his track records and humanitarian gestures.
The resolution was read by the Anambra State Chairman of Inter-party Advisory Council, IPAC, Hon. Evangelist Isaac Onuka.
