The Chief Executive Officer of Sunny Best Oil and Gas Limited, Mr. Sunday Samuel Nwafor, from Ezira Town in Orumba North LGA, was on Thursday, December 27, 2018, joined with his heart throb, Miss Stella Ogonna Onwunduba in the sacrament of matrimony at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ezira.

The wedding ceremony witnessed the conferment of Papal blessing from the Catholic Pontiff, His Holiness Pope Francis, through the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, on the new couple.

Leading in the wedding mass, Bishop Ezeokafor described patience, love and prayers as necessary virtues which sustained marriage.

In his homily, Bishop Ezeokafor called on the newly wedded couple to always be open to each other and to inform their partner of all their activities and actions, saying that such created room for trust.

Speaking on the dangers of third party involvement in marriage, Bishop Ezeokafor warned the newly wedded never to give opportunity to any third party in their marriage and urged them to understand their individual differences in order to resolve the difference which might arise in the cause of their marriage. He emphasized the importance of tolerance in marriage and beckoned on the new couple to always bear in mind that there were thorns which they must encounter in their marriage.

He noted that couples must learn to manage the sweet and bitter sides of their marriage as such underscored their maturity as human persons.

The Catholic prelate enjoined women to organize their homes in such a way that their husbands would always be willing and happy to return after daily work, while husbands, in their turn, should assist their wives to excel in life by helping them discover their hidden potentials and also by encouraging them to contribute qualitatively towards the growth of the family.

He stressed the importance of faithfulness as a key factor in the sustenance of the unity of spouses and advised that couples should always be consistent in their prayer life, as prayer bonded people together.

Blessing the couple's house after the wedding, Bishop Ezeokafor tasked them to strive to turn the comfortable house which God had given to them into a home where they would receive peace of mind after each day's stress and disclosed the need of using one's resources to gain heavenly abode.

In his opening remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Prof. Emma Nwankwo, while congratulating the new couple, reaffirmed the fact that he who found a good wife, obtained favour from God. He tasked them to discover an approach that would work for their marriage as there was no defined approach towards a successful marriage.

Speaking to journalists later, the bride, Mrs. Stella Nwafor, thanked God for joining them in marriage and described her husband as a soul created for her by God. She said that her mind got settled and she knew he was the one immediately she met him two years ago.

For his part, the groom, Mr. Sunday Nwafor, said he located his wife though God's divine intervention. He maintained that his wife's humility, fear of God and down to earth nature made him to choose her over others, saying that she would give him the desired rest of mind which he needed in his home.

The wedding which attracted different government officials from Anambra State had as its highlights presentation of Pope Francis's Papal blessing, cutting of cake, dance, merriment and exchange of gifts.
