The Anambra State House of Assembly has concluded the 2019 budget defence with a call on ministries, departments and agencies to justify the confidence repose in them by the Governor.

Addressing newsmen shortly after interacting with the last committee, the chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation and member representing Anambra East State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Pharm. Obinna Chris Emeneka, said the committee members took its time to scrutinize all those who appeared before it.

Hon. Emeneka noted that the timely commencement of the budget defence was in fulfillment of the promise by the lawmakers to pass the budget before the Christmas break.

Chief Emeneka enjoined the ministries to live up to expectation by utilizing the approved funds, even as he assured that they would ensure that the budget was passed in record time.

For his part, the chairman, House Committee on Trade, Commerce and Wealth Creation, and member representing Njikoka II State Constituency, Hon. Sir Pete Ibida, expressed happiness at the level of preparedness and experience exhibited by various the ministries that appeared before them.

In an interview, the Head of Service, Barr Harry Udu, commended the lawmakers for painstakingly going through the documents of various ministries, assuring that the organs of the state would continue to promote peace and unity of Ndi Anambra through their contents and quality service delivery.
