....Extends Tenure of Transition Chairmen

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has presented the 2019 Budget Estimate to the Anambra State House of Assembly.
The draft estimate, tagged, ''Budget for Sustained Economic Growth and Youth Empowerment'', has a total size of N157.1bn with a spending ratio of N63.33bn for recurrent expenditure and N91.8bn for capital expenditure.
It was presided over by embattled Rt Hon Rita Maduagwu, whose leadership is currently being disputed by a section of the House.
Barrister Maduagwu assured that the House would continue to enact quality laws for the benefit of the people and read out the resolution of the House.
Also at plenary, the House considered the Medium Term Expenditure Framework as requested by Governor Willie Obiano.
The House also extended the tenure of the transition chairmen and members of the twenty-one local government areas of the state for three months, in line with section two hundred and eight of the Local Government Law.
In their separate speeches, the transition committee chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area, Mr Ralph Asha Nnabuife, and his Orumba South counterpart, Mr Raymond Onyegu, thanked the House for extending their tenure, assuring that they would continue to work for the peace and progress of the state.
