A philanthropist Mrs. Tina Anaedo of Immaculate Conception Parish Onitsha has put smile on the faces of the beggars in Onitsha through Mary Mother of Mercy Catholic prayer Ministry St. Michael the Archangel Parish Fegge, Onitsha.
In his homily at the mass to mark the occasion, a visiting Priest, Rev. Fr. Christopher Ogugua admonished to the congregation to live a holy life and reconcile with God and warned those who indulge in evil acts to desist.
He stated that they will soon face the wrath of God and charged the people to go confession any time they commit sin for them to be at peace with God.
Meanwhile, the Spiritual Director of Mary Mother of Mercy Catholic Prayer Ministry St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Fegge, Sister Margeth Mary Otika OSB, JP told newsmen that Mrs. Tina Anaedo is not a member of her Ministry, just as she stated that Mrs. Anaedo heard that her ministry under takes work of mercy and decided to assemble the beggars through her ministry and feed them for the Christmas merriments.
Sister Margreth who commended such imitative of Mrs. Anaedo disclosed that God has been kind for the family of Anaedo, which according to her prompted Mrs. Anaedo to assemble the beggars and feed them. She also revealed that such benevolent act of Mrs. Anaedo is worth to emulate by the general public.
Sister Margeth equally explained that people should indulge in almsgiving; saying that Our Lord Jesus Christ gave the charge that we should love the poor and dine with them. She prayed God to touch the heart of the rich people so that they can help the poor masses.
Also speaking, one of the ministers in the prayer ministry Mrs. Oken Cordelia Nkechi stated that one of the reasons why people helps the poor ones is to obtain God's blessing and explained that she joined the prayer ministry eight years ago and since then God has changed her life positively.
She however, disclosed that items they distribute to the beggars were mostly collected from people through the ministers serving in the prayer ministry. Items distributed to the beggars were; Rice, Cloths, Biscuits etc.
