The Anambra State Chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing, last Tuesday, honored Sir John Iwuno as its Patron with an award of selfless service to his community and the development of youths across the nation.
This was done during a courtesy visit paid by the state executive of the association, at the awardee's country home at Agbudu Village in Nando, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State.
Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing is an Igbo socio-cultural, political group with a mission to promote peaceful co existence, socio-cultural activities, aid youth development and participation, as well as enhance economic values of Nigerian youths.
Laying emphasis on the popular saying that charity begins at home, the community leader, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, commended Sir John Iwuno for his philanthropic contributions both in his community and the state, even as he said that the award was presented to encourage him for his selfless leadership, as well as spur him to partner with the Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing.
Sir John Iwuno, while receiving the award, appreciated them for the great recognition and said the gesture would spur him to serve humanity more.
Commending the state governor on his leadership style, he advocated for the creation of avenues for youths to gain employment, noting that it would empower Anambra youths.
Other stakeholders in the community, namely Mr. Fedinand Ekwealor, and Engineer Fabian Agbasionwe, said the award was channeled to the right person, describing the awardee as somebody who had done much for his community.
