… Promises to Unify Group

Prince Evangelist Isaac Onwuka of People for Democratic Change, PDC, has been elected as the Anambra State Chapter chairman of Inter Party Advisory Group, IPAC, in an election last Tuesday at INEC headquarters, Awka . IPAC is the umbrella body of political parties.
Addressing newsmen in Awka, the newly elected chairman, Prince Onwuka, promised to unify the body in the state to become a single and indivisible unit. Stating that this was part of his three-pronged mission, he also said his leadership would protect the interests of members, as well as promote internal democracy in parties in the state.
Onwuka who polled 32 votes to emerge tops, frowned at the treatment of the so-called smaller parties by the government and the Independent National Electoral Commission,
INEC, insisting that all parties were equal and should be equally treated and respected.
Pointing out that his group remained the rallying point of all parties, he stated his resolve to engender cooperation between political parties in the state and INEC, even as he promised to engage the government of the day in constructive criticism without overheating the polity.
The other newly elected members of IPAC include: Ken Okafor of PPP, deputy chairman; Sam Ezeaso of UPM, secretary; Sylvester Okeke of AGAP, Fin Sec; Steve Edekobi of MAJA, org sec; Chijioke Onyekonwu of AGA, PRO; Alex Anah of AA, treasurer and Dan Igbokwubili of PPA, legal adviser.
The new executive members were inaugurated same day at INEC headquarters.
