A 25-year-old man, Onochie Collins Eya, from Enugu-Ezike, Igboeze North L.G.A. of Enugu State, is currently fighting to save his life following a renal condition that has left his two kidneys damaged.
Onochie's medical report shows that he was first admitted at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Delta State, on August 12, 2018, on account of “generalised body weakness and facial swelling”. Examination revealed that he “had bilateral leg swelling and blood pressure 210/110”, while his kidneys were also found to have swollen.
Onochie now requires a kidney transplant surgery, which doctors at Zenith Medical and Kidney Centre, Abuja, said will cost a total of ten million naira to carry out. The patient, whose family cannot afford the stated amount, has been on a regular dialysis therapy.
