The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State chapter led by its State chairman, Lady Chinwe Nnedum recently takes membership message to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Umunya Temporary Orientation Camp.

Addressing the gathering, the NIPR's state chairman said the visit was borne out of the directive from the national leadership, saying that the visit was going on simultaneously across the country.

The former Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) stressed the need for Corps Members to join the body, noting that public relations job was the only job that was domiciled in virtually all the establishments.

'Public Relations managers are found in every organization. We encourage people to join. We are into human relations, image making and conflict resolution,' Nnedum said.

Lady Nnedum urged the corps members to identify with the body, noting that there were lots of benefits, adding that she would be there to guide the intending members, adding that those without Mass communication and marketing background would go through the Master Class (MCPD) which, she said, at the end the person would be certified.

Also speaking the state secretary of NIPR and Head of Mass Communication Department, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Dr. Venatus Agbanu enjoined the corps members to take seriously what they had been taught, noting that joining NIPR would automatically placed them ahead of others in terms of human relations and conflict management

'As a member you have so much to gain. It is an added advantage, especially when you are seeking for a job or having anything to do with managing an office and leading a group. This is the only professional body that guarantees you regular trainings and retrainings,' Dr. Agbanu said.

Responding the NYSC state coordinator, Mr. Kehinde Aremu thanked NIPR state leadership for the visit. Mr. Aremu who was represented by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) NYSC, Anambra State, Mrs. Anuri Moloku said they would continue from where the NIPR state leadership stopped.

Speeches, refreshment formed the highpoints of the visit.
