The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution for the immediate rehabilitation of Odor-Awgbu Road in Orumba North Area, urging the Governor, Willie Obiano to direct Ministry of Works and Anambra Road Maintenance Agency to work on the road.
The motion which was sponsored by the member Representing Orumba North Constituency, Chief Romanus Obi received endorsement by two third of the house members.
Obi explained that the road has cut into two thereby making it difficult for people to access Awka. He commended the Ministry of Works for the ongoing rehabilitation of Aguluezechukwu-Ogboji Ndiopkalaeze-Ajali road to ease the sufferings of the people.
Supporting the motion for adjournment, the member representing Ogbaru 1 Constituency, Sir Benson Nwawulu, appealed to Governor Obiano to direct the contractor handling the construction of GMO-Ogbuagu-Amaizu road to expedite action on the project. He lamented that three persons lost their lives there recently as a result of the deplorable condition of the road.
