Sen. Victor Umeh Support Group Dunukofia Local Government Area Chapter, has been inaugurated with a call on them to drum support for Senator Victor Umeh's 2019 Senatorial bid to represent Anambra Central.
The inauguaration witnessed attendance by Senator Umeh's supporters at Oye Ukpo Square, Ukpo.
Addressing the newly inaugurated group, Governor Willie Obiano canvassed for massive support for Senator Umeh, noting that he would lead the campaign.
According to the Governor who spoke through the Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, Senator Umeh had accomplished much during his very short stay at the Senate, which he said should inspire the seven Local Governments Councils under Anambra Central Senatorial Zone to mobilize support for him.
For his part, Senator Umeh who promised to justify the confidence reposed in him, pointed out that he went to the Senate to do things differently from what other past representatives did.
The Senator who assured that he would continue to represent and project the Igbo cause, said he would not divert money meant for constituency projects, stating that as long as APGA continues to represent the Igbo struggle, his loyalty remained unshaken.
Senator Umeh who revealed that in the past five months of his sojourn at the Senate, about six hundred million naira worth constituency projects had been attracted to Anambra Central, noted that he will not betray the confidence reposed in him.
The Chief Whip of the State House of Assembly, representing Dunukofia Constituency, Honorable Lawrence Ezeudu, described Senator Umeh's kind of representation as rare, being a strong Igbo voice in the Senate, and appreciated the people for supporting him.
Earlier, the National President of Victor Umeh Support Group, Sir Uche Oduche, emphasized that such support for the Senator is quite deserving because of his sacrifices and contributions to APGA that have helped made the party a household name in the country, adding that Senator Umeh is a man with genuine intentions.
Also speaking the APGA State Youth Leader, Hon. Peter Ozumba described Umeh as a quintessential lawmaker. He assured that he would work for Umeh's reelection.
Among those that attended the event was the member representing Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Honorable Dozie Nwankwo.
The event which featured award presentations to some National Patrons of the group, also served as an opportunity to inaugurate its executives and ambassadors.
