Most people present at the Immaculate Heart Hospital Aguleri, venue of Hon. Pharm. Obinna Emeneka's Free Medical Outreach, Saturday, August 18, could not hold back their emotions as a sick old woman broke down in tears of joy after taking delivery of a wheel chair donated by the House of Assembly member representing Anambra East State Constituency, Hon Obinna Emeneka.
The wheel chair given to the Septuagenarian who was accompanied by her daughter, was part of the Free Medical Outreach being organized by the Anambra State lawmaker in Anambra East Constituency.
Over 400 men and women of different ages and health conditions benefited from the programme which consisted of free tests, free consultations and free drugs that were administered to the patients who defied the heavy downpour to be at the venue as early as 8am.
When the medical team paid a courtesy call on the traditional ruler of Aguleri, HRH Igwe Christopher Idigo, the monarch praised Hon. Emeneka who he addressed as his son, for doing a great job for his constituency. He thanked the lawmaker for bringing health care down to the grassroots in Anambra East Constituency.
The Acting President General of Aguleri, Chief Emma Ikem, also welcomed the medical team to Aguleri Community and thanked him for his selfless service to his constituents.
Some other dignitaries who eulogised Hon. Emeneka's efforts at the Outreach included Chief Willie Okafor and Chief Onochie.
In his remarks Hon Emeneka thanked Aguleri people (the 4th community in 2018 Free Medical Outreach series), for their warm reception and overwhelming support for him since 2011. He reminded his audience of the need for regular checkups and healthy living.
The Legislator also thanked Aguleri Community for producing a great leader like Gov Willie Obiano that was making Omabala people proud.
