Bar Casmir Nwafor Bags Award for Excellence

A Federal House aspirant for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Barrister Captain Casmir Chinonso Okafor, Rtd, has received an award alongside others during a conference organized by the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, NIIA, held in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The conference with the theme, “The gains and challenges of presidential order and ease of doing business in the Nigerian Maritime sector, one year after”, attracted the crème de la crème from all sectors of the country engaging them in creative discourse aimed at propelling the country to greater heights.

Speaking after receiving the award, Bar Nwafor appreciated NIIA for the award and commended them for working towards the actualization of making the Nigerian business sector better.

Speaking on the theme of the conference, he reiterated that difficulties were encountered in the business sector because many factors seemed to remain stagnant. He further pointed out the factors which included lack of access to the Nigerian sea ports, saying that in a country large as Nigeria, with lots of importers and exporters, there existed only one operational sea port.

Talking on the incessant traffic hold-up, caused by physical inspection of containers at the seaport, he advised the government to introduce electronic gadgets to take over the screening and make procedure faster as a way of improving the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

He also urged the Federal Government and National Assembly to critically review all relevant laws that constituted hindrances in the implementation of the policy on ease of doing businesses in Nigeria, noting that it would aid to reduce the physical, mental and financial stress put on importers.
