It was celebrations galore as the people of Igbariam besieged the Eke Edo Market Igbariam to witness the flag off of the construction of the market, along Igbariam –Anaku Road, Igbariam, in Anambra East Council Area. The flag off of work at the market was performed by the member representing Anambra East in the State House of Assembly, Hon. (Pharm.) Chris Obinna Emenaka.
Flagging off the construction of the market which he initiated, Emenaka said what he was doing was in line with Governor Obiano's Community Choose-your-Project Initiative, where communities were allowed to choose projects of their choice for government to do for them.
He said the people of the community chose the project.
The Lawmaker who pointed out that his projects cut across all the communities in the constituency, noted that he would continue to deliver on the mandate given to him by his people, through bringing dividends of democracy to them, sponsoring motions that would help them actualize their talents and potential, as well as engaging them in town hall meetings to ascertain their needs.
Speaking at the event, the Vice President of the Community, Mr. Marcel Ihejirika, described Emenaka as a legislator with a Midas Touch and further described the construction of the market as the greatest thing that had happened to the community in recent times.
In a remark, a retired veteran journalist from the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Chief Emeka Odikpo, noted that the community had tried in the past to construct the market but to no avail and eulogized the lawmaker for his good legacies, which, he said, would stand the test of time.
Hon. Emenaka had upon arrival at the community, paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Igbariam, Igwe N.N. Kelly.
