In what was described as solidarity to the Blessed Mother, the International Consecrated Marian Society has celebrated her annual Our Lady of May in honour of the Blessed Mother. The event which was held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Arch Bishop Obiefuna Retreat and Pastoral Center in Awka South L.G.A. of Anambra State, featured the procession of Holy Rosary and Holy Mass.
The celebration of our lady of May was an avenue for the International Consecrated Marian Society to deliberate on how best to propagate Our Lady to be known by the whole world as Mother Full of Grace.
Earlier, the founder, International Consecrated Marian Society, Dr Mrs. Celina Okpaleke, stated that the organization was founded in 2015 in the U.S.A in a bid to propagate Our Blessed Mother to the world. She regretted that they were in a world where Mary was not recognized by many, saying that her purpose for initiating the International Consecrated Marian Society was to spread the message of Our Lady to the Church, families and society as a whole.
This was even as she described Mary as her source of inspiration and joy, noting that her encounter with the Blessed Mother made her develop more interest in her,
saying that Mary had played an important role in her live when all hope was lost.
She emphasized the importance of Consecration and how important it was for all to be consecrated. Mrs. Okpaleke advised all to recite the Holy Rosary on daily basis because, according to her, it was a great weapon presently when killing of innocents were the order of the day.
She admonished those who only remembered to pray when they were troubled, saying that such prayers were not answered by God. She added that Mother Mary was an eye opener, noting that if the world understood her, they would be calling on her in their daily activities, as she was ever ready to answer those who called upon her.
She urged all to make sacrifices in reparation for the conversion of sinners. Mrs. Okpaleke added that her love for Mother Mary made her to produce a movie titled ''Hearts Mercy'' which was shot in the U.S.A.
For his part, the coordinator, Bro Greg Mary Ajide, thanked God for his mercies and also appreciated all who made out time to celebrate the Blessed Mother, not withstanding their various tight schedules,
He described Mary as a mother full of grace and explained the meaning of Mary, saying that Mary signified sovereignty which meant ''Lady of Light'' because she was full of grace, resistant to sin, filled with grace and that sin and temptation had no power on her.
He said through bitterness, she became our Mother of Sorrow. He stated that the month of May was the month of grace where favours were obtained from the Blessed Mother, adding that Mary and her son Jesus were the sources of salvation.
Also speaking, the Catholic Bishop of Awka, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, who was represented by the former Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, Most Rev Peter Ebelechukwu Okpaleke, thanked the International Consecrated Marian Society for their efforts and initiative as they were the tools used by the Blessed Mother to propagate her message to the world.
