New Year Message – 2020, Good to the Ears – Bishop Ezeokafor

The Catholic bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, believes the uniqueness of the year 2020 will cause a great turnaround in the fortunes of all Nigerians.

The cleric said in his New Year Message that the year 2020 sounded so sweet, lively, unique, appealing and favourable.

Bishop Ezeokafor who delivered his message in Agulu, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State shortly after presiding over a Concelebrated Eucharistic Mass at the Third Ofala Festival of Igwe Innocent Obodoakor, enjoined Nigerians to cooperate with government at all levels to enable it to carry out its plans for the masses.

According to him, being antagonistic and insensitive to the government of the day would end up severing the country and thereby causing more harm to hapless Nigerians.

Bishop Ezeokafor emphasized that there was no other country Nigerians would call theirs, arguing that lack of cooperation from the people would put the country in absolute jeopardy.
He expressed the hope that the new year would affect Nigerians positively, saying that going by the way the year sounded, he was optimistic that it would bring about the needed changes in the system. He said was particularly delighted with how God allowed all of them to see the end of 2019.

He also enjoined Nigerians to show love to one another and purge themselves of hate, noting that love bred progress, peace and unity. The prelate noted that little acts of kindness could trigger uncountable blessings and great fortune.

‘We thank God for His mercies. We appreciate Him immensely for keeping us alive to witness and see the end of the year, 2019. Many died this year and we are here. It is something remarkable.

‘We are thankful and happy seeing this day. We look forward to the coming year with great hope. We have so much going into the New Year with. So much to thank God for. Let us keep hope alive. I see a better and prosperous 2020,’ Bishop Ezeokafor concluded.
