Murder of Late Mr. Ndubuisi Nwokolo: Anambra State Police Command Parades Wanted Murder Suspect, Ikanda, Others

The Anambra State Police Command, has paraded one Ikechukwu Udensi alias IKANDA, aged 27 years in connection with the murder of Late Mr. Ndubuisi Nwokolo, aged 38years. The late Nwokolo of No. 21 Otumoye street, Odakpu Onitsha was allegedly killed in broad day light on the 29 June, 2018 by IKANDA and his gang using offensive weapons such as machetes and cutlasses on the victim.

Addressing newsmen at the Command’s Headquarters, Amawbia, the state Commissioner of  Police, CP Mustapha Dandaura said the late Nwokolo, a trader was murdered in cold blood on the 29 June, 2018, noting that following the incident, the Command launched aggressive manhunt for the fleeing perpetrators and declared the alleged ring leader, Ikechukwu Udensi alias IKANDA of Azia town in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State wanted.

According to him, the police operatives attached to the Command Operation Udoka and Special Anti robbery Squad SARS on the 31/3/2019 at about 12:50pm, following painstaking intelligence and strategic planning,  raided a Criminal hideout at Menax near down flyover in Onitsha and arrested who they described as a notorious suspect Ikechukwu Udensi AKA IKANDA who was earlier declared wanted in connection with the alleged murder.

He further  said that the suspect was assisting the Police with useful information that could help in arresting his accomplices in order to bring them to Justice.

In a related development, the police boss  also announced the arrest suspects allegedly involved in the attacking and setting ablaze Ajalli police Station and carting away officers’ riffles,

Mr. Dandaura said that on the 15/2/2019 at about 02:am, hoodlums suspected to be IPOB members attacked Ajalli Division, burnt down the station, three police patrol vehicles and other exhibits, saying that the suspects, equally carted away three AK 47 rifles  from the Division armoury and injured the DCO who was on visiting round.

He said that following the incident, the Command special Anti robbery Squad embarked on aggressive manhunt of perpetrators  and arrested five of suspects.

Those arrested and paraded included, Abuchi Nwogwu ‘m’ aged 21 years, Okwudili Nwanne  ‘m” aged 42 years, Maduabuchi Obia ‘m’ aged 22 years, Chukwuedozie Orah  ‘m’ aged 30 years and, Ekechi Chukwuemeka ‘m’ aged 30 years all of Ndikelionwu in Orumba North LGA of Anambra State .

He stated that upon interrogation the suspects took operatives to their criminal hideout where they recovered one of the AK 47 rifles with breech number KO 358792 carted away, noting that the case under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.

Similarly, the police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS at about 10:05pm, at Upper Iweka area Onitsha arrested one Chimaobi Amauwa ‘m’  aged 25 years of Ihechiowa in Abia State.

According to Commissioner of police, preliminary investigation revealed that suspect belonged to a one chance robbery syndicate terrorizing Onitsha and environs using a commercial bus in order to deceive their victims, noting that exhibits recovered from the suspect included one locally made pistol and the operational vehicle L300 bus with REG. No. DRK 85 XA, adding that case was under investigation and effort was ongoing to apprehend his accomplices after which they would be charged to Court for prosecution.

CP Dandura assured all “Ndi Anambra ” and residents alike that all hands were on deck to ensure the safety and Security of all citizens in the State,  even as he enjoined the Public to continue to assist the Police with useful information and report any suspicious persons or movement through the Police emergency numbers availed to the Public for prompt response.
