Lille Sporting Director Luis Campos has praised former Chelsea striker Loïc Rémy for assisting Victor Osimhen thrive in his debut season in France.
The 33-year-old Frenchman partnered the young Nigerian in attack several times in the 2019-2020 campaign and they both accounted for 32 of the goals scored by Lille in all competitions.
Famous Portuguese talent spotter, Campos stressed that experienced players are important for the development of young players.
Fides gathered that Osimhen, like Rafael Leao last year, has grown enormously with Loïc Rémy.
‘It is important to understand that if the player is to increase his potential, conditions must be created within the club so that these young talents can play well.
‘This is fundamental and therefore it is necessary to create conditions to give a coach a backbone with experienced players who have a good level,’ Campos said.
A move to England or Spain could be on the horizon for Osimhen as he continues to be linked with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
In a similar development, Abdellah Boulma, who claims to write for FIFA’s official website among others, has backtracked on his previous statement which alleged that Chelsea were the Premier League team that slapped in a bid for the 21-year-old.
Boulma now claims that Lille had received an offer from Tottenham Hotspur not Chelsea for the Nigeria international.
Recently, it was reported that a mysterious club tabled a bid of 85 million euros for Osimhen, but Fides gathered, Campos dropped a massive hint over the possible destination of the former Wolfsburg starlet by revealing that the striker will play for a top three club in the world.
Fides also learnt that Osimhen is believed to be on the radar of La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, in addition to his numerous English suitors.
