On Thursday 6th May 2021, Mr. Sylvanus Ohajaka (a friend of the Fides Media) laid the remains of his dear mother, Mrs. Caroline Ojemba Enweiro Ohajaka (age 93) to mother earth at her country home in Urualla, Imo state.

The funeral Mass which held at St. John’s Catholic Church, Urualla, had priests and religious, family and friends among other sympathisers.

Late Ojemba Enweiro as she was popularly called, was born in 1928 and died in March 2021.  She was survived by seven living children, thirty-two grandchildren and then sixteen great grandchildren.

Rev Fr Christopher Ihenetu, explained in his homily that the burial Mass of Mama Caroline should be that of thanksgiving as she lived a fulfilled life of huge sacrifice to her family, her generosity and all she encountered in her ninety-three years on earth.

He admonished the congregation to always live their lives with consciousness of heaven by dedicating their time on earth to doing good. He described late Caroline as a giver, a caring mother and as her name implies Ojemba Enweiro (a traveller that nurtures friendship where she goes).

In his vote of thanks before the end of the Mass, the first son of the deceased, Mr. Cyprian Ohajaka, thanked all for attending the funeral Mass of their late mother and prayed for her eternal repose.

In his own tribute, Mr Sylvanus Ohajaka, the second son of the deceased and Fides friend, eulogized his mother by describing her as a dedicated woman who sacrificed her life and stood firm while protecting and fending for her children even after the death of their father. He regretted that she had left a vacuum no one else could fill.
