The Senator representing Anambra Central in the Senate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, has announced that the construction of St Theresa’s Catholic Church Road will take off this January 2021.

Ekwunife said the road had been gazetted in the 2021 budget and expressed the hope that with the signing of the budget by President Muhammadu Buhari, her promise would be fulfilled.

Senator Ekwunife announced this during the Ezike Day, 2020 and 35 years on the throne of HRM, Ezike the Fourth of Nibo, Eze Michael Ngene, on the 26th of December 2020 at Nibo Civic Centre.

Fides recalls that Senator Ekwunife promised Nibo Community that she would tar the road during the campaign for the Anambra State House of Assembly of Hon Moses Anene in 2019, though he lost narrowly.

‘I feel proud to inform you today that the road has been gazetted in the 2021 budget and will kick off in January 2021,’ she reassured.

The ceremony which also involved Royal Investiture was witnessed by a high powered delegation across traditional and political lines.

Also, Eze Ngene seized the opportunity to formalize the position of Ikenga Nibo (Onowu) to Ozo Robinson Ezeani, and other titled chiefs who were installed that day.

Among the dignitaries Installed, were the state chairman of PDP, Chief Ndubusi Nwobu; and the former President of Transcorp, Valentine Chineto Ozigbo.

In solidarity, HRM, Engr Sir Sunday Okafor, Igwe Okpuno; HRM Igwe Austin Nwankwo of Ishiagu; HRM Igwe Joel Egwuonwu of Umuawulu, among others, graced the occasion.
