I’ve supported Obi more than Others, Ekwunife Declares in Agulu

The senator representing Anambra Central in the national assembly, Mrs Uche Ekwunife, says no one has supported the presidential ambition of former Anambra governor, Peter Obi, more than she has. Ekwunife stated this in Agulu, Anaocha LGA, in on continuation of her tour of the local government.

The federal lawmaker who stated this during a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of the town, Igwe Innocent Obodoako, January 29, 2023 said she had nothing against Obi and was equally not in any conflict with him, noting that she had supported Obi’s presidential ambition more than those moving around him.

She also added that during Obi’s PDP presidential aspiration she equally donated her office to the former governor.

Ekwunife said the only difference between her and Obi was interest, even as she highlighted her achievements in Agulu to include asphalted roads, construction of schools, boreholes, solar street lights, federal government employment, grants and building of houses, among others.

Ekwunife who arrived at the palace of the traditional ruler of Agulu to appreciate him and his cabinet for their continuous support, officially informed them of her intention to seek for their mandate to return to the senate and to receive royal blessings.

Ekwunife thanked the monarch for what she described as his exemplary leadership in the community, noting that her relationship dated back a long time.

Speaking further, Ekwunife recalled that the only institution attracted by her, the National University of Science, Technology and Innovation, was cited in Agulu and maintained that her road project in Agulu was at the point of conclusion.

Also at the event, the people of Nwanchi Village in Agulu honored the senator with an Award of Excellence for her outstanding representation to the people of the zone.

Welcoming the Senator, the monarch thanked the lawmaker for the visit, noting that Ekwunife was an integral part of Agulu Community and that her achievements in the community were numerous.

The traditional ruler added that they were aware of Ekwunife’s capacity and declared that the PDP senatorial candidate was contesting for senate, which, he said, was different from the position Obi was contesting and maintained that the lawmaker had been doing well for the community right from her House of Representative days and now as a senator.

While endorsing the senator, Igwe Obodoakor declared that the lawmaker would win her election and continue giving the zone effective representation. He urged the community to support the senator.

From the Igwe’s Palace, Ekwunife and her entourage proceeded to Amatutu Hall Square and Afor Agulu, respectively, where she interacted with the people of Agulu and sought for their support.
