. . . Echoes of STCCI Christmas Bash
By Princess Chinecherem Efobi
A catholic priest, Rev Fr Benjamin Ilobinso has urged students to always bear in mind that it is God’s unconditional love for humanity that has kept it going, not human smartness as some people wrongly think. The priest made this remark in his homily last December at Agulu, on the occasion of the end of year/Christmas party of St Anthony’s school (SACCI) Agulu.
“God’s infinite love and mercy has brought us success, not our intelligence, smartness and even holiness. Do all you can to embrace God daily in words and actions. Be Christ’s good testimony both in school and any where you find yourself. Stop pretentious lives’, the Rev Fr who also teaches in the school said.
Fr Ilobinso popularly called ‘Mopol’ for his football exploits commended SACCI Manager Fr Anselm Ngana and his immediate past assistant, Fr Roland Victor Okoli for making SACCI a household name. He urged the students and staff to reciprocate the management input in SACCI by the quality impact they will make in the larger society.
In his speech, Fr Ngana appreciated all present for joining the school in yuletide celebration, and prayed for God’s special blessings on all. He cautioned students against the excesses of yuletide celebrations and urged them to be meaningful to their families.
A lot of dances and other social activities spiced up the event.
