A leading aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Chidozie Nwankwo, says he will make history in Nigeria as the first governor that will not accept kickback. Nwankwo disclosed this during an interactive session with newsmen in Oko last Monday, reports Jude Atupulazi.
Nwankwo, the Chief Executive Officer of Wichtech, said rather than demand kickbacks, he would bring knowledge and experience to the table, having known how to motivate and build confidence in people.
‘I have God’s mandate and I’ll be the only governor that won’t accept kickback. I’ll focus on our needs. We need something like a gas line to attract mega industries. Good governance will promote our values,’ the one time shipping agent in Onitsha said.
Nwankwo who said he had always listened to God before taking any major decision, said his becoming the governor of Anambra State would be a divine mandate.
He said that Anambra would be developed in a way that people would be proud of, while he described his guber project as the greatest.
Nwankwo urged the electorate to look for experienced people who could effect change else society would disintegrate.
‘We have to rise up for a change that will redefine and remould the future of this nation. Enough is enough. It should not be politics of the highest bidder,’ he said, while assuring that he had the resources to contest on his own and challenge those sponsored by godfathers.
He insisted that it was time people voted for the right person to avoid mortgaging their future, even as he pointed out that no one could give what they did not have, saying he was the best candidate.
While predicting an end to APGA rule in Anambra State, Nwankwo said the next government in the state would be formed by APC.
