Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka (MNIM), Director, NYSC South East Office Enugu, has advised corps members of the 2020 Batch B, Stream 2 in Anambra State, not to crave to be posted to urban centres.
He recently gave the advise at the Anambra orientation camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, as part of his tour of NYSC camps under his domain.
Ikaka noted that they would make greater impact in rural areas than in urban centres.
‘In the hinterlands, you will have opportunities to learn from the people, their cultures and be placed in better position to contribute your quota to the development of your host communities.’ Ikaka said
He identified other privileges such as cheap or free foodstuff, affordable accommodation and better standard of living. He stressed that when such is experienced, they are sure to have a rich and rewarding service year.
He further urged them to integrate with one another, saying that the essence of the service year is to encourage national unity among Nigerians.
He admonished the corps members against traveling late, keeping strange company and improper dressing. He also advised them to take personal security seriously.
The Director presented gifts to groups, while he also received some finished products from the SAED cosmetology class.
