I Will Change the System with Fellow Radicals – Capt Nwafor

The Federal House hopeful for Orumba North/South Federal Constituency under the umbrella of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Capt Casmir Nwafor (Rtd), has vowed to change the lopsided system in the country’s polity by working with fellow radical thinkers if elected to serve his people in the Federal House.

Nwafor who stated this while addressing APGA local government executive, ward chairmen, as well as select stakeholders from Orumba North at Oko Civic Centre, July 21, said that the problems in the country required a radical approach which needed people with radical minds to tackle.

He disclosed that he was going to work with a special group of friends who were worried about the ignoble path the country toed at the moment. These friends, he said, were all vying for the Federal House in order to jointly fight against what he called the corrupt system.

The retired army officer who said he left the army because of what he saw there which he did not like, as well as the zeal to serve his people where he could impact more on their lives, condemned politicians who dumped their people after using them, even as he lambasted some current members of the Federal House from Anambra State who he accused of docility.

He said his mission to the House of Representatives would be devoted to ensuring the creation of an additional state for the Southeast, representing his people equally, doing a bill for the National Ecology Commission to ensure equitable distribution of erosion funds, and doing another bill for the declaration of May 30 as a public holiday. He also pledged to sponsor a bill for provision of pre-paid meters, as well as bill against the harassment of Igbo business men by the customs, among others.

This is even as he assured that he would carry party members along in his political journey.

He accused the Federal Government of treating insurgents with kid gloves and allowing them to transmute into herdsmen after their release.

Speaking on the aspiration of Nwafor, a stakeholder in Orumba, Hon Cyril Nwobu, who is also the Special Assistant to Gov Obiano on Agriculture, while extolling the qualities of Nwafor, called on the people of Orumba North to avoid making the mistakes of the past by this time rallying round one credible candidate.

According to him, this could be done if the people of the zone would be courageous enough to ask some candidates to step down for the best candidate to enable the zone to compete with their very best.

Earlier the chairman, APGA, Amaokpala, Mr Obinna Ikwueto, described the aspirant as a dogged fighter who was dedicated to the cause of the party and who had been supporting the party over the years.

Many other speakers hailed the qualities of Nwafor, recalling his contributions to the fortunes of the party. They include, Mr Patrick Mejulu, ward chairman, Oko 2; Hon Alex Nwankwo, stakeholder, Amaokpala; Hon Eucharia Mejulu, SA to Obiano on Women’s Affairs; and Mr Peter Okoli, stakeholder.
