Hon Chiekwu Pays Thank You Visit to Ezi Ogidi Community

….Replaces Burnt Transformer,Embarks on New Project

The member representing Idemili North State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu, recently paid a thank you visit to Ezi Ogidi Community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Hon Chiekwu during the visit presented a 500KVA transformer to the community as part of his resolve to boost rural electrification in the ten communities that make up Idemili North State Constituency.

It will be recalled that the lawmaker had recently offered scholarship, jobs, and university admission to many indigent constituents, He had in the recent past donated 500KVA each to Umuoji and Nkpor communities and had also built a water borehole with gigantic overhead tank at Mgbuka Obosi.

Hon Chiekwu, who is currently renovating and re-roofing dilapidated Girls’ Secondary School, Uke, has offered material and financial support to many indigent constituents.

He also presented cash gift to the executive and members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ogidi Ward II, led by Hon Chris Ibeto, as well as Ezi Ogidi Community youths, led by Mr. Ndubuisi Okaro.

The lawmaker said the visit and presentation of the amenity were in line with the campaign promise he made to the people of the community and that he had come to reciprocate their kind gesture.

The Umuoji-born legislator urged the community to choose a project they would want him to carry out in the area, noting that he would embark on the project immediately they notified him, assuring his constituents of a robust, quality, and human driven representation, even as he pleaded with them to continue to support and work for APGA.

‘I have facilitated another slot for you people; you now have 3 slots instead of 2 at the council. Ogidi as a community will now have 3 councilors. Apart from the transformer, cash gifts, facilitation of another slot for you, I also await your quick response as regards siting a project here in Ogidi which I will be remembered for. I want to leave a legacy in the whole of Idemili North.

He expressed gratitude to to Ogidi Community for supporting him massively during the election.

Receiving the transformer, the chairman of Ezi Ogidi Community, Chief Barr. Collins Mendu, praised the legislator, describing him as a sincere, committed, compassionate and prepared lawmaker, adding that the gesture had changed his perception about APGA as a political party.

Barr. Mendu, while appreciating Hon Chiekwu, ordered for APGA’s party card, expressing his willingness to become a card carrying member of APGA, noting that he would canvass for votes, as well as re-election of the legislator.

Welcoming the lawmaker, the Traditional Prime Minister of Ogidi, High Chief Ifeanyi Udokwu, paid a glowing tribute to Chiekwu, saying that with him, the future of Idemili North State Constituency had been guaranteed.

He assured the lawmaker of his unflinching support, noting that what Hon Chiekwu had done in the space of 2 years as representative could at best be described as unprecedented and unheard of, urging him to maintain the tempo.

In their separate speeches, the Councilor representing Ogidi Ward II, Hon Ifeanyi Ekwo; the Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Political Matters, Hon Ibeto Celestine Chidi; the women’s leader of Ogidi Ward II, Hon Theresa Enweani and the Director General of Hon Chief Ifeanyi Chiekwu Campaign Organization, Hon Last Born, showered praises on the legislator, reiterating their commitment towards his representation.

The Councillor representing Umuoji Ward, Hon Lotanna Okekeze; the Chairman of Umusiome Nkpor, and a political appointee of the Anambra State Government, Hon Barr. Uche Darlington, were among those that witnessed the presentation.
