Gunmen on Monday allegedly killed two policemen and kidnapped a couple in Anambra State.
The couple, whose names were given as Mr Ceejay and Dr Nini Iyizoba, were said to have been kidnapped in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.
A source said the couple were headed to Owerri Airport, Imo State, before the incident happened.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenganyia Tochukwu, said he had yet to receive such information, but a source said while the police men escorting the couple were killed, the kidnapped couple were later released late on Monday night.
A Senior Police Officer who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak confirmed the incident.
The officer added that the couple were dropped off by the hoodlums at Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government area of the state at the midnight of last Monday.
Fides gathered that the couple are from Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
