The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Anambra State Chapter, Prince Emeka Udodeme, has appealed to Ndi Anambra to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration ahead of the November 6 Anambra gubernatorial election.

Prince Udodeme made the plea in Awka, at a Voter Education/Stakeholders Forum for a successful governorship election in Anambra State organized by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra State Directorate.

Speaking at the forum, the Ohanaeze President said the importance of voting could not be over-emphasized, because, beyond being a civic duty that citizens owed the nation, they had the opportunity to vote for leaders of their choice.

‘When you don’t vote, it means you have inadvertently contributed to bad governance. Ohanaeze will continue to collaborate with National Orientation Agency and INEC to ensure that all eligible Anambrarians are registered in the ongoing voters’ register.

‘I urge the traditional rulers, presidents generals, church leaders, market leaders and relevant stakeholders, to encourage Ndi Anambra who are 18 years and above to go and register.

‘Those who have problems with their cards, as well as those who want to transfer their voting points, can avail themselves of the opportunity presented by the CVR,’ he said.

Udodeme commended NOA for enlightening and engaging the stakeholders and called on the people to support the Agency in mobilizing their wards, particularly those of voting age, to participate in the CVR exercise.

He urged participants at the forum to ensure the message got to the people at the grassroots.
