…As Bishop Okoye Commends Umeh’s Benevolence

First Old Boy Principal of Bubendorff Memorial Grammar School, Adazi-Nnukwu, Sir Willie Eze, has received a car from Senator Victor Umeh, the former Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance and former member that represented Anambra Central in the Green Chambers.
Dr. Eze whose car was snatched by armed robbers about three months ago, was a student of BMGS from 1961 to 1965 and later became the principal of the citadel of learning between 1988 and 1997.
Fides gathered that Senator Umeh had promised Sir Eze a brand new car during the 2021 Cultural Day Celebration of BMGS after the Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Most Rev. Jonas Okoye, while thanking God for the life of the former principal, announced that armed robbers had attacked him and made away with his vehicle.
Presenting the car, Senator Umeh noted that he decided to replace the stolen car in order to reward the ex-principal’s hard work and selfless service in the education sector, especially as the principal of Bubendorff Memorial Grammar School, Adazi-Nnukwu. He maintained that the car gift was to support Dr. Eze for his love and dedication to the cause of BMGS at all times.
He recalled that Dr. Eze was ever ready to come and defend the school over the trespass of the land belonging to the school by some trespassers.
He revealed that the presentation of a Toyota Camry Saloon Car, 2019 modal with vin number 4T1BE32K46U644544, which he purchased at the cost of two million, five hundred Naira, was in redemption of the promise which he made after they had waited to know if the police would find the car.
Bishop Okoye who blessed the vehicle, commended Senator Umeh on his benevolence to humanity and great contribution to BMGS, Adazi-Nnukwu, saying that he never doubted the ability of Sir Umeh to fulfill the promise following his past encounters and dealings with the Anambra Central Senator for the 8th Assembly. He expressed conviction that it would aid the former principal’s movement and daily activities.
Speaking to Fides, the Manager/Principal of BMGS, Rev. Fr. Theo Ekwem, extolled Sen Umeh’s continual philanthropy to the Church and education sector. He emphasized the importance of commitment and urged teachers, among others in active service, to emulate the creditable service of the former principal in order to obtain such honours.
Receiving the car, Dr. Eze disclosed that his car, Honda CRV, was stolen on the 25th of June, 2021 after attending a burial at Ekwulobia, and stated that it was greatly difficult for him to move about after the loss of his car as he started driving in 1974 when he received a car loan as a teacher.
He noted that he had never boarded a public transport since 1974 except if he was embarking on a long journey and revealed that the difficulties he started facing after the loss of his car had been wiped away with the car gift.
He said it was the grace of God that made him to be favoured by an Old Boy and a fellow Alumnus of BMGS and thanked Sir Umeh and family for the provision of the car.
Present to witness the presentation was the wife of Senator Umeh, Lady Prisca Umeh; a prominent member of BMGS Old Boys Association, Chief Sir Theo Ezekwe; Mr. Willie Umeh and Mr. Chijioke Ifekpolugo, among some few teachers who came to witness the presentation.
