The Anambra State command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, reached agreement with the state’s Ministry of Transport to work together for the purpose of creating safer motoring environment in the state.
The Command made this known in a release signed by its Public Education Officer, RC Pascal A. Anigbo and dated July 7, 2020.
Anigbo who signed for the Sector Commander, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, said the Sector Commander received in audience, the Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Mr Afam Mbanefo, in his Office in Awka.
The high point of the visit was the presentation of a copy of the revised Nigeria Highway Code to the Hon. Mbanefo, by the Sector Commander FRSC Anambra State.
He further said that the Commissioner sought synergy with the FRSC in Anambra State in areas targeted at creating a safer motoring environment in the State.
The Sector Commander, according to the release, welcomed the Commissioner and assured him of FRSC’s commitment in ensuring that road traffic crash was eliminated in the state and promised the Command’s full support in all the Ministry’s programmes.
He added that both leaders agreed to further explore other operational areas and activities, to ensure sanity on the roads in Anambra State.
It will be recalled that Hon. Mbanefo was recently assigned to head the Transport Ministry from the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy.
