Agulu born priest, Rev Fr Patrick Chidi Ifewulu, last Sunday, September 12, 2021 celebrated his 25th priestly
anniversary and 55th birthday anniversary at St Theresa’s Catholic Church, Agulu, Anaocha LGA of Anambra State with families and friends from different walks of life.
Describing the celebrant, during the concelebrated Holy Mass to mark the Silver Jubilee, the homilist, Fr. Anthony Udogu, appreciated God for the life of Fr Ifewulu for the event of his silver jubilee and birthday celebration. He also emphasized the need to have a relationship with God and love him diligently.
Fr. Ifewulu since his ordination in 1996 had held many pastoral posts at various places which includes: St Theresa’s Parish, Ichida 1996-1998; St Patrick’s Parish, Aguluzigbo 1998-2000; St. Peter’s Parish, Adazi-Ani 2000-2001; St Partick’s Cathedral Parish, Awka 1999-2005; and many other parishes. He is currently teaching at Tansi International College, Awka since 2015 till date.
Giving the vote of thanks, Fr Patrick Chidi Ifewulu appreciated God for his grace and love over his life in the past 55 years and 25 years as a priest. He also appreciated his parents of blessed memory, Late Mr. Simon and Josephine Ifewulu, family members and friends.
‘Thank you all for coming to celebrate with me. I appreciate all the priests here especially my Set, the 1996 set. I appreciate my home parish too, St Theresa’s Parish for giving me the opportunity to celebrate my silver jubilee and birthday here. Daalu’, Fr Ifewulu said.
Speaking to Fides, Fr. Ifewulu, noted though it has not been easy, but he was able to pull through despite the challenges. He also said he wish to be a better priest than he has ever been.
Rev. Fr Lawrence Maduagwu, classmate of Fr Patrick Chidi Ifewulu, also appreciated God for Fr Ifewulu and described him as a good priest and industrious man. He also said Fr Ifewulu is a very committed man, that anything he is involved in, he stays very committed to it.
Some of the dignitaries at the event includes: Traditional Ruler of Nawgu, Dunukofia LGA, Anambra State, HRH, George E. Okaa-Onwuogu, KSM, political leaders among others.
