Fr Ibegbulem Admonishes Christians to Be Strong Believers in Blessed Trinity

A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Hilary Ibegbulem has urged Christians to be strong believers in the Blessed Trinity.

In a Homily that he delivered last Sunday morning at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Asaba, Delta State, the Priest noted that the three persons always work together.

He said, “Today is the Solemnity of the Most Blessed Trinity; it is celebrated all over the world every Sunday after Pentecost Sunday.

‘We have to at all times, without fear or being ashamed, profess our faith in the Blessed Trinity.

‘What comes to mind when we talk about the Blessed Trinity is that there are three persons in one God – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

‘The three persons do not represent three Gods but three persons in one God.

‘Genesis Chapter One made it clear that God the Father is the Creator who created the world by His Word and His Word, Jesus Christ, became flesh and dwelt among us, that is, God the Son and the Spirit of God hovered over the waters, that is the Holy Spirit.

‘So, because of the three persons in one God, the Blessed Trinity, God the Father said, ‘let us make man;’ He did not say, I want to make man; He was emphatic, ‘let us make man.’

‘During the Baptism of Jesus Christ, that is, God the Son, a voice was heard from God the Father and the Holy Spirit also, descended on God the Son in the form of a Dove.

“We believe in the Trinity, three persons in one God and we are proud to profess that as Catholics and all Christians should recognize such and profess their faith in the Blessed Trinity.

‘With the sign of the cross, we profess our faith in the Blessed Trinity.

‘We should begin our prayers and end our prayers by invoking the Blessed Trinity with, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.’

The celebration of the Holy Mass featured thanksgiving by the parishioners.
