The Management and Staff of Fides Media, on Monday, 4th September 2023, organized a Send Off ceremony for Valerian Sochima Ejiofor, a seminarian posted to the establishment on one year apostolic work. Fides also welcomed his successor, Timothy Nwankwo.
Speaking at the event which took place at Fides Auditorium, the Director of the establishment, Rev. Fr. Dr. Robert Anagboso, who was a father figure to the seminarian, appreciated the seminarian’s efforts in the establishment while urging him to always make use of his initiatives and do what was right at all times.
Fr. Anagboso however stated that he made efforts during the course of the seminarian’s stay to groom him into a responsible young man, as well as encouraged him to acquire skills, which, he noted, would be of great help to him in future.
The Director wished him luck in his endeavours, especially as he was going ahead to continue his studies as a seminarian. The director assured him of open arms whenever he visited.
The send forth ceremony provided an opportunity for all who desired to give the seminarian their words of advice and appreciation for all the good things he did during his service to the establishment.
In his speech, the Editor in Chief of Fides Newspaper, Mr Jude Atupulazi, commended the seminarian, acknowledging him as possessing a cheerful and jovial personality; as well as describing him as always smiling and urged the new seminarian to emulate his predecessor.
The Production Manager of the establishment, Mr Alexander Adejoh, speaking at the event, thanked the seminarian for always availing himself to learn and also putting on the right attitude to work.
He also pointed out some of the seminarian’s good qualities, among which were being meticulous and diligent; even as he wished him success in his future undertakings.
Some other members of the staff, including the Driver, Mr. Uwazie Nicholas, and the Head of Studio, Marcel Uzuanwu, in their individual speeches eulogized the seminarian for being a kind and obedient fellow, adding that working with him was a smooth and remarkable experience, as well as encouraged him to keep on in the good path.
In reaction, the seminarian who was overwhelmed by the show of love and encomiums showered on him by the members of staff, appreciated God for sparing his life to that moment while acknowledging the Director, Fr Robert Anagboso, and Deputy Director, Rev .Fr. Constantine Okoli, for all they did for him while he was under their tutelage. He described the Director as the driving force to his success as he taught him to always make use of his initiative in all he did.
He thanked the members of staff for their support and encouragement, noting that each of them had in one way or the other made good impacts on him.
The members of staff, further expressing their gratitude, gifted the outgoing seminarian an enlarged picture frame of himself, which, according to the Production Manager, was out of their goodwill and profound appreciation for his resourcefulness during his stay with them.
