An acting chairman in the person of Jude Atupulazi, has been appointed to pilot the affairs of Fides Chapel, NUJ, Anambra State Council, pending when a formal election will be conducted for the chapel.
The emergence of the acting chairman was as a result of the election of the pioneer chairman, Comrade Abuchi Onwumelu, as the current treasurer of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council. In line with the constitution, an individual is not allowed to occupy two positions at the same time.
Handing over to the acting chairman at an Editorial Meeting of Fides Communications on March 11, 2019, the pioneer chairman, thanked God for the growth and peaceful transition of the Fides Chapel which was inaugurated on March 16, 2016, by the Chairman, NUJ, Anambra State, Sir Emmanuel Ifesinachi.
Onwumelu commended members of his executive, Lady Ifeoma Nwadi, vice chairman; Uche Amunike, secretary; Ifeoma Ezenyilimba, assistant secretary; Chioma Ndife, financial secretary; and Uchechukwu Enem, treasurer for their support. He also commended the members and Fides Management for the support they gave to him during his tenure, even as he promised his support for the continuous growth of Fides Chapel which he described as one of the best in Anambra State.
He described the three uninterrupted years he served as the chairman of the chapel as eventful and glorious.
The acting chairman, Hon. Jude Atupulazi, who promised to deliver in his new responsibility, is a renowned journalist, writer and media expert. He joined the services of Fides Communications in 2011 and has since contributed to the notable growth of the establishment as the editor-in-chief of Fides Newspaper.
Before joining Fides, Atupulazi had worked in other media establishments among which were the Post Express, Examiner, The Week Magazine and Next Newspaper, among others.
