Fides Media Living the Faith

The Fides, Media last Monday marked the Feast of St Valentine at Bishop Obiefuna Auditorium, Fidesplex, Okpuno, Awka. This event, originally planned to hold on February 18, was attended by the Management of Fides and staff members, as well as some guests.
The Director of Fides, Reverend Father Robert Anagboso, in his opening remarks, welcomed the staff members and guests, Rev Fr Anthony Igboamalu, the manager of CAPAD Filling Station, Nodu, Okpuno, who came with a friend.
Fr Anagboso stated that Valentine was a celebration of love and that inasmuch as it called for a celebration of love, the Fides family should endeavour to have love in mind while at work. He further urge them to show love in whatever they did, not minding whom they did it for. He insisted that love should always lead.
Rev Father Constantine Okoli, Fides Deputy Director 11, gave a brief lecture on the essence of Valentine, with the theme, ”Love and Romance”. He described romance as a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love and further stressed that love was a circular process and that loving was an act of self-evolution, even when the purpose of the act was for someone else’s growth.
He talked about the second topic of the day, ‘Therefore I will love again”, noting that for a person to love again, forgiveness of oneself, choosing to heal, rising above gossip, enjoying the season of singleness and also believing again, were the crucial facts to bear in mind after a break up.
Father Okoli urged the staff members to try emulating St. Valentine in every stage of their lives, including the act of love itself.
Mr Ikeugonna Eleke, Fides reporter, advised the staff members of Fides, including the married and those about to marry, to always put their family first. He said that after God came the family and then business, and urged them not to allow a third party into their homes to avoid broken homes.
Mr Victor Elijah, one of the committee members, gave the vote of thanks and appreciated the Management and staff for their efforts in gracing the occasion.
