Four Fides reporters, Mercy Hill; Precious Ukeje; Alexander Adejoh and Adejumoke Alebiosu, have been rewarded by the Management of Fides Media Ltd as best reporters for the month of December 2020.
The Editor-in-Chief of Fides Newspaper, Mr Jude Atupulazi, announced their selection at the first Fides’ News and Editorial Meeting for 2021, held at Fidesplex on Tuesday, January 12. According to the Editor-in-Chief, their news story titled: ”Christmas: Food Prices Soar as Livestock Traders Groan”, published in Fides Newspaper of December 20-26, 2020, won them the award.
Mr Atupulazi congratulated the four on their win, noting that the news story, which, he said, helped buyers in their Christmas purchases, was selected based on its topicality.
For his part, the Director, Fides Media Ltd, Rev Fr Dr Martin Anusi, congratulated the Trends in Anambra (TIA) Team, who, Hill, Ukeje, Adejoh and Alebiosu, were part of, for the team work which they had been demonstrating in many things. He encouraged them to continue to work as a team for better results.
Responding on behalf of the winners, Mr Alexander Johnson Adejoh, thanked the Editor-in-Chief for finding their story worthy of the award. Adejoh, appreciated the Fides’ Director for the many times he had, according to him, pushed and encouraged the Trends in Anambra Team to work harder.
Each of the four winners received a cash award from Fides Management.
The Management also at the meeting, presented a cash gift to the Fides’ School Run anchor, Queen Chinecherem Efobi, who, on January 7, 2021, was crowned Ada Igbo Zuruoke Worldwide, at Lively Hills Hotels, Okija, Anambra State.
