Eulogies as Ibida Organizes Town Hall Meeting for Njikoka II Constituents

…Receives Ward Chairmen’s Award


Tuesday, 11th September, 2018 will go down in the annals of history as the day the entire Njikoka II constituents including women and youths practically endorsed Honourable Pete Ibida’s reelection bid.

The lawmaker’s reelection bid was further sealed with the presentation of quality performance award to him by the chairmen of all the ten wards that make up Njikoka II State Constituency.

The Catholic Women’s Organization, CWO’s hall, Assumption Parish, Nimo, the venue of the town hall meeting was filled to the brim as who is who Njikoka II State Constituency and beyond took turns to talk about the quality and effective representation of Hon. Sir. Pete Ibida. They unambiguously and unanimously agreed that the Nimo born lawmaker had performed creditably well.

Presenting the award to Ibida, the Chairman of all ward chairmen, Hon. Osondu Ozumba  (Abba Ward I) accompanied by his colleagues from different wards in Njikoka II State Constituency said having followed and religiously monitored Ibida’s performance since he was sworn in as a lawmaker they   decided to reward and back his reelection bid, even as he said that their present action would further laid to rest the issue of zoning in Umuowelle.

Hon. Ozumba said they were solidly behind Hon. Ibida, whom, they said had performed and deserved a second term in the office, saying that the only true way they could prove their unalloyed support was to openly recognized and appreciate him for the good works he (Osondu) said Ibida had done so far in the Constituency.

‘Hon. Pete Ibida has redefined lawmaking. We are so proud of him. He has justified the confidence reposed in him by the entire Umu Owelle. We have demonstrated and also made it abundantly clear that our commitment towards Ibida’s reelection is total. He has done well and deserves to be rewarded with another tenure. We have resolved to give him maximum and unflinching support,’ Osondu assured.

In their separate speeches, the president general of Nimo, Hon. Sir Anthony Igboka; the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Religious Matters, Hon. Sir Anselm Okafor (Onowu Abba); the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Hon Tony Nwazojie (Ike Abagana); the chairman Apga (Njikoka), Elder Charles Okongwu; Hon. Sir Cyprian Anagor (Abagana) and Hon. Iloh Humphrey (Eselu Njikoka) unequivocally jettisoned the issue of zoning, noting that their support for Ibida was borne out of conviction, adding that he (Ibida) had performed and deserved a second chance.

Others who applauded Ibida’s legislative acumen cum quality representation included, the distinguished Senator Representing Anambra Central, Chief Sir Victor Umeh, the member representing Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo; the member representing Njikoka I State Constituency, Hon Tim ifedioramma and member representing Anaocha I State Constituency, Hon. Charles Azubuike Okoye.

Addressing his constituents, Hon. Pete Ibida who is the House Committee Chairman on Trade, Commerce, Markets and Wealth Creation, expressed gratitude to God for His grace and guidance, noting that his generous nature drove him into politics, adding that with or without politics he would continue to empower and ameliorate the plights of his people.

Speaking on his achievements, Hon. Peter Ibida said he started to deliver democracy dividends immediately after he was sworn in into office, saying that the three towns that make up Njikoka II State Constituency had received his verifiable signature projects.

‘I built two open market stores, containing  24 stalls each and a 6 room luck up shops at Abba. 4 open market stalls/pavilion at Abagana, And market stall, big pavilion, foot ball pitch and equipped clinic at St. Micheal’s Sec  School at Nimo. Free atenetal care 4months for all in the constituency in 2016. Four months free atenetal and two days free medical for all in 2017.

‘I donated trophies and  one million three hundred thousand naira cash prize during the 2017 Ibida Unity Cup,’ Ibida concluded.

Items presented to Njikoka II State Constituents on Tuesday, 11 September, 2018 included, 10 generators, 46 gas cooker (table top), 10 grinding mechine, 200 bags of rice (10k) and 290 pieces of wrapper and cash gifts.

Those in attendance, youth leaders, 10 APGA members from each ward, 9 ward chairmen, secretaries, Ibida youth vanguard, among others.
