The Bakery Dealers Association, Ogidi in Idemili Local government Area of Anambra State in recognition of contributions towards advancing the growth of the market has honoured the past leaders who piloted the affairs of the market.
The award ceremony which came on the heels of the end of year prayer session was held at the market.
According to the Chairman of the market, Chief Benjamin Ezeneme, the award was necessitated by the need to put smiles on the faces of past leaders whose thoughtfulness and genuine love brought meaningful development and value to the market.
Presenting an address of welcome, the Secretary of the Association, Mr. Ossy Ifem, highlighted the giant strides and positive indices recorded by the present leadership of the market, with efforts geared towards promoting peaceful co- existence.
Mr. Ifem observed among others that the Association has strengthened Board of Trustee membership through appointment of young Persons and enjoyed cordial relationship with the State government, even as he called for increased support to enable them actualize lofty ideas for the expansion of the market.
Earlier during the prayer session, Evangelist Cletus Anaebo urged Christians to renew their relationship with God, cautioning them against evil thoughts.
Speaking, at the event, the Chairman Board of Trustees. Barrister Chudi Nwokediuko, who expressed joy for the honour accorded them, endorsed the leadership quality of Chief Benjamin Ezeneme for his selfless sacrifice, in uplifting the market, encouraging upcoming leaders to toe his part and emulate his virtues.
A trader who spoke to newsmen, Mr. Francis Ezerugharu expressed gratitude to God for keeping them alive to witness the end of the year activities.
Some community homes in the State also benefitted from the largess.
