ELOVAS Awka Zone Feeds the Poor on Streets

To mark the 2022 International Women’s Day (IWD), the Awka Zone of a group known as Excellent Ladies of Valour and Steel (ELOVAS) Foundation International, on Saturday, March 12, took to the streets of Awka, Anambra State, to feed the poor, including beggars, in line with its vision of touching lives.

Led by the Coordinator, Lady Amaka Chinny Umeh, ELOVAS Foundation, Awka Zone, in the course of the charity outreach, gave out packed cooked jollof rice with meat and drinks to over 60 poor people at the Pedestrian Bridge, UNIZIK Temporary Site, Awka and in front of the gate of St Patrick’s Old Cathedral Church, Awka, Anambra State.

The beneficiaries of the largesse, who were visibly happy, prayed for the adorable sisters of the Foundation as they took turns and collected their goodies, praying God to bless and keep them away from evil.

Fides gathered that the items donated to the beneficiaries were sponsored with the freewill donations made by the executive members of ELOVAS Foundation, Awka Zone.

Speaking to the press, the Founder/President of Excellent Ladies of Valour and Steel Foundation, QueenLady Dr Ngozi Ekwunife, commended the members of the zone, whom she described as adorable sisters with unique kind hearts, for their donations and the importance they attached to the charity outreach.

The ELOVAS president appreciated the members for sustaining the noble vision of the Foundation.

She noted that it had been an annual routine of ELOVAS Foundation which clocked ten years this 2022 to celebrate the yearly International Women’s Day with charitable activities.

Queen Lady Ekwunife explained that just like Awka Zone which was the mother Chapter of the Foundation, other chapter members across Nigeria and beyond also carried out various charity activities to mark the 2022 IWD.

Among others that carried out charity activities to mark the 2022 International Women’s Day are ELOVAS Foundation, Vandekiya Chapter, Benue State, which visited three primary schools on March 9, and paid one session school fees for nine very poor pupils of the schools.
