In line with her unrelenting commitment towards human capital development and youth empowerment, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, Tuesday, facilitated another capacity building training for youths of the senatorial district, reports Jude Atupulazi.

The training, tagged, ”Zonal Strategic Capacity Building for Youths on Self-Reliance in Anambra Central Senatorial District”, was held at Senator Uche Ekwunife Centre Awka, and was designed to expose participants to food processing and branding.

Senator Ekwunife has remained consistent in facilitating programmes focused on addressing the human capital development challenges of her constituents; the most recent being a workshop on space based data interpretation for experts from Anambra Central Senatorial District and training on modern masonry, carpentry and painting skills – both trainings holding earlier this year.

It will also be recalled that between 2019 and to date, the perceived youth-friendly Senator has organized over 15 empowerment programmes focused on empowering women and youths, cutting across various sectors of the Nigerian economy.

In one of the recent training programmes, the lawmaker revealed that the economic situation in the country had made it imperative for the government to invest in technical education, saying that skilled technicians formed a large chunk of Nigeria’s informal sector – a sector she described as crucial to the growth and development of the nation.

The lawmaker has invested massively in the education sector, with her recent distribution of furniture to selected schools in the senatorial district has receiving wide commendation by constituents. She has equally completed several blocks of classrooms in schools, among other notable projects and programmes in the senatorial district.
