The National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye, has described the season of Easter as a period for penance, forgiveness and reconciliation.
In his Easter message signed and made available to newsmen, Dr. Oye stated unequivocally that peace could only be achieved when we learned to tolerate, forgive and reconcile with one another.
He wondered how anybody who failed to forgive one’s neighbour would ever expect God to forgive him/her of their sins, adding that there was too much bitterness and intolerance in our nation today.
He advised politicians to use the period to work for genuine peace and reconciliation in our troubled nation.
The APGA boss expressed optimism that the nation, despite the excruciating hardship would soon regain its lost glory.
‘We specifically urge Nigerians, especially members of APGA, to show love to one another and avoid acts capable of causing undue furore among the various peoples of Nigeria,’ Oye advised.
He prayed God to keep our nation united and peaceful, while urging the federal government to take drastic measures to arrest the increasing spate of killings, kidnapping and robbery across the country.
He used the opportunity to thank APGA members all over the nation for their untiring support for the party and asked them to remain resolute and focused in the pursuit of growth and development in the party.
