Fides Media Living the Faith

ENT Consultant Surgeon, Dr Vincent Ofoegbu and the Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State Hon Paschal Aniegbuna paid a courtesy visit to Fides Media on Tuesday October 11, 2023 at Fides Complex Okpuno Awka. It was a reunion of a kind as the duo of Dr Ofoegbu, an old classmate of the Fides director Rev. Fr. Dr. Robert Anagboso met for the first time in years after the later came back from studies abroad.
Speaking at the occasion, a visibly excited and overwhelmed Director, Fr. Anagboso described Dr Ofoegbu as a worthy friend and brother who always came 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the class at the junior seminary. “He is very intelligent, and today, as a Consultant Surgeon, he is saving the lives of many. I am happy to reunite with him” the Director added.
On his own part, Dr Ofoegbu expressed great excitement and described the Director of Fides as a worthy friend saying “ he is my worthy classmate we were together in the minor seminary at St Dominic Savio, Akpu in Orumba from 1984 – 1987, at St John Bosco Seminary Isuanaocha from 1987 – 1990. I heard that he is now the Director of Fides and I came to pay him a visit and look around the complex to see what the place has to offer.
I am impressed with what I saw; it’s quite a magnificent outfit both in terms of structure and output. I encourage the staff to follow the footstep of the director and abide by the all the regulations, so that the place can become bigger and greater.’
In like manner, the Transition Committee Chairman Ogbaru LGA, Hon Aniegbuna who was also mesmerized by what he saw opined, ‘I never knew Fides was this big; I was thinking it is a small place where they do print work like newspaper. Fortunately for me today, I stepped into the place to see the Director who is a classmate of my brother In-law, Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony Umeh and he showed us around and what I saw was unimaginable, so big. I think my perception about Fides has totally changed.
I have discovered that Fides is not only into printing newspapers, they are doing something bigger than that. I saw so many things like studio, newsroom and equipment of all kinds and these tell that Fides is a completely Print and Online Media Organization handing all things media and publicity. It is really a big establishment and I pray that God will help them do more’, he expressed.
Sharing ideas, the three friends agree to work together in the service of God and humanity. As a renowned and experienced medical consultant, Dr Ofoegbu pledged to offer his services in educating the populace on public and general health matters whenever called upon since Fides has all the Media platforms for information dissemination.
On his part, Hon. Aniegbuna assured the Director that he will see that the government is solidly behind Fides in providing enablement that will promote and sustain the work of Fides especially in public education, information and entertainment.
