Dozie Nwankwo Hosts Soludo

Endorsements for the governorship aspiration of the foremost aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Prof Charles Soludo, have continued to gather momentum, with the Federal House member representing Njikoka, Anaocha, Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Hon Dozie Nwankwo, being the latest to throw his weight behind Soludo, reports Jude Atupulazi.

Speaking before mammoth gathering at the evnt which took place in his residence in Enugwu Ukwu, Nwankwo said it was an honour to have Soludo around in his constituency. He noted that given the massive support enjoyed so far by Soludo, the primary election would be held to fulfill all righteousness.

Nwankwo, who said he would have contested the election if not that Soludo was in the race, asked those contesting with him to consider stepping down; even as he assured Soludo that he would work hard to deliver his constituency, both in the primary and the gubernatorial elections.

He  concluded by moving a motion for the support and adoption of Soludo as the consensus candidate of his constituency. The motion was overwhelmingly supported.

In his speech, a visibly elated Soludo expressed delight and gratitude at the large crowd and calibre of APGA party heavyweights that joined Nwankwo to welcome him in Enugwu-Ukwu.

Soludo assured both his host and the audience that he would never take their support for granted, noting that the clamour for him to join the gubernatorial race started about two years ago with various support groups clamouring for him to run.

He said the support groups, which he said had risen to thirty, were self-funded and did that out of their deep conviction and passion for his candidacy, noting that they had equally supported him financially to procure his nomination and expression of interest forms.

He promised to replicate in Anambra, the success of his banking consolidation that created millions of jobs and made billionaires out of hardworking Nigerians who seized the opportunity provided by the banking revolution to grow their businesses and reap bountifully from it. He said since the consolidation of banks no Nigerian had lost a kobo to any bank again.

‘This revolution is coming to Anambra State. We will build on the foundations Gov Willie Obiano has laid and Anambra will go higher and higher. This is the people’s movement and nobody can battle with the Lord,’ Soludo said.

Chief Victor Umeh, former National Chairman of APGA and a key stakeholder, welcomed Soludo to the grand event and thanked Hon. Nwankwo for being a great host.

Chief Umeh said his support for Soludo was because Soludo was the best, noting that every aspirant he had previously supported had always won election and that same would happen to Soludo in the coming months.

He said the party decision was supreme and what everybody was doing now by supporting Soludo was the decision of the party, which, he said, could not be changed by anyone; even as he charged those still sitting on the fence to join the Soludo train.

He commended Governor Willie Obiano for what he described as his excellent work, noting that Soludo would further take the state higher when he succeeded Obiano.

For his part, Hon Chinedu Obidigwe, a Federal House member, described Soludo as the candidate that was accepted everywhere in Anambra State, as well as a true party man who would build on the legacies of Gov Willie Obiano and should therefore be supported.

Other speakers at the occasion also took turns to eulogize and pledge support for Soludo’s candidacy.
