The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has directed the immediate rehabilitation of failed portions of Unizik Junction-Okpuno-Isuaniocha Road as part of measures to cushion the difficulties experienced by people on that road, reports Isdore Ndubisi.
The Commissioner for Works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma, made this known during an inspection on the progress of work on the road.
According to him, Gov Chukwuma Soludo got a call on a particular day that there was a four-hour traffic jam on the road occasioned by the dilapidated portions which prompted him to direct the Ministry of Works to move immediately and remedy the situation.

‘The situation has been arrested, resulting in the free flow of traffic being experienced now on the road. I commend the quality of work done by the contractor,’ the Works Commissioner stated.
The Managing Director, Del-Trazi Nig Ltd, Mr. Jonas Nwokolo, said the company had been able to deliver the job within a three-day period.
He said they had also been able to desilt blocked drainage channels and cleared heaps of refuse at the Y-junction, Okpuno.
