. . . Launches Maiden Almanac

Nineteen years after its creation, the Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON), Achina Deanery, on Sunday, January 6, 2019, celebrated her 3rd Youth Day amid pomp and pageantry.
The event which was held at St Paul’s Catholic Church, Ogboji, Orumba South L.G.A, Anambra State, featured launching of the maiden CYON almanac and conferment of various awards on some distinguished individuals by the Deanery CYON, in recognition of their contributions to youth and societal developments.
In his address of welcome to mark the event which, the outgoing president, CYON, Achina Deanery, Comrade Uchenna Anaekwe, thanked God for the growth of the seven parish deanery, in line with the 3Rs of his administrative policy. According to him, the 3Rs were: reorganization of Achina Deanery youths for solidarity movement in Jesus Christ; re-directing and channeling the vision, mission and mindsets of the youths for grassroot evangelism and repositioning the youths to embrace the gospel of Christ for re-awakened responsibility in the youths.
Anaekwe solicited for donations in aid of the CYON needs of fund for smooth running of the organization, evangelical bus and sports wears for their male and female teams in various sporting events.
In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Hon Stan Nnaka, who was also one of the awardees, expressed his delight over the rich activities that enriched the celebration, thanked the Deanery CYON for the award and pledged his continuous support.
Among the awardees were the former principal chaplain of CYON, Awka Diocese, Rev. Fr. Ositadimma Amakeze; the outgoing chaplain of CYON, Achina Deanery, Rev. Fr. Daniel Odimegwu; the YPP candidate for Anambra South Senatorial Zone in the February 2019 Election, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah; the YPP Candidate for Aguata II Constituency in the February 2019 Election, Comrade Emma Ezeokafor and the Woman Leader, Onneh Patriotic Union, Lady Obiageli Igwegbe, who were honoured with Achievers Award.
